Guidelines for Authors

Posters constitute short reports on scientific results or professional news or work in progress.

Prospective poster authors submit abstracts (300 words) including the essence of the planned presentation. The abstract can be submitted in either DOCX or PDF format, but no special formatting guidelines apply in this stage. References, tables and figures are acceptable in the abstract. References are in addition to the 300-words limit.

Following a peer-review process, a decision is communicated to the authors. The review process of the HCI International Conference is not double-blind. The name and contact details of the author(s) that are associated with the abstract are given to the reviewers.

After acceptance, depending on the time of submitting their proposal, the authors will have the following opportunities:

  • having a poster extended abstract included in the "HCII 2023 - Late Breaking Work - Posters" Springer CCIS volumes of the Proceedings to be published after the conference (typically 6 pages but no less than 4 and no more than 8 pages, in the form of short research paper),
  • only presenting their work during the Conference.

Authors are kindly advised to pay attention to Springer’s Code of Conduct before the preparation of their manuscripts.

Deadline for abstract submission:
Submission open until 28 April 2023 (new deadline)

Abstract length: 300 words

Notification of review outcome: Monday, 29 May 2023 (new deadline)

Deadline for registration: 7 June 2023 (new deadline)

Deadline for camera-ready submission: 23 June 2023

The "HCII 2023 - Late Breaking Work - Posters" volumes, which will appear after the conference, are no different in academic terms from the volumes that will appear before the conference. Poster extended Abstracts in the form of short research papers in these volumes are treated in exactly the same way, i.e. single-blind peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers, referenced, indexed, published in the Springer digital library, etc. All volumes together will form the full set of the HCII 2023 Conference Proceedings.

Registration Regulation

In order to provide a greater opportunity for more people to present at the Conference, multiple submissions by single authors or by the same author with multiple accounts, cannot be accepted. Co-authors may appear on multiple Posters, but each accepted Poster, or poster, with multiple co-authors should have a different Conference registrant.

For poster presentation at the Conference and inclusion of the poster extended abstract in the "HCII 2023 - Late Breaking Work - Posters" Springer CCIS volumes of the Proceedings, one registration per poster is required by 7 June 2023 (new deadline).

For poster presentation of Late Breaking Work submissions at the Conference, one registration per proposal is required by 7 June 2023 (new deadline).
